Fastest Option
This section explains how to provide fingerprints that can be converted into an EFT file and used with any FFL for ATF e-Forms submissions. You don't need technical knowledge - just follow the steps below.
Scan your Fingerprint Cards
Avoids mailing delays when possible

Completed FD-258 fingerprint cards

Flatbed scanner (home, office, UPS store, library, etc.)
Scan Settings
Use all of the following:

Resolution: 600 DPI

Color mode: Grayscale or Color

File type: PDF or JPG

Scan type: Flat scan (no phone photos)

Visibility: Entire card visible, no cropping
Phone photos frequently cause delays.
After Upload

Upload or send files as instructed

If scans are clear, EFT conversion is often completed the same day
Alternative Option:
Mail Fingerprint Cards
If scanning is not available, mailing fingerprint cards is still acceptable.
